Dog beaches in Naples FloridaDogs are mans best friend, right?  So when your having fun and going places its natural to want to go with your best friend, and here in Naples the beach is one of the most visited places in town.

As a Real Estate agent in Naples, I am asked for advice all the time by prospective home buyers, moving to a new area most people want to learn about the local area, local stores or schools for instance. When moving to new area facilities for family and friends are important right?

Those of you who love animals as much as I do will want to make sure there are plenty of places to take your four-legged friends as well as making sure that the home you are considering is in one of the dog-friendly communities.  If your dog loves to swim, you probably want to check out the beach.  However not all beaches allow dogs, in fact, they are not allowed on the main beach downtown. Happily, there are beaches close by that welcome dogs and their owners, as long as you behave.

One of the best dog beaches around is only a short drive from Naples,  Bonita Dog Beach is open to the public, provided your dog has aDog Beach near Naples Florida current rabies certificate and license. There is plenty of parking and room for your dog to run and play both on the beach and in the gulf. If your dog is on the smaller side, it is best to check the tides. For those of us who have best friends with short legs, getting to the beach at high tide can be a little difficult, the path to the beach gets covered in water and you need to paddle so smaller dogs may need to be carried.  Long-legged friends, however, will have no problem bounding through the water.

Dog Beaches in Naples FloridaAnother great place to take your dog is the end of Keywadin Island, sadly only accessible by boat, this long barrier island just south of Naples has a great sandy beach on which to park your boat.  The southern tip of the Island is surrounded by water, a short walk across takes you to the Gulf a great place for finding shells or letting your dog run like crazy.  If you do not have a boat, they can be rented there are a few places close to the Bayfront condos in Naples Bay that provide hourly boat rentals.

There are are many other opportunities for your dog in Naples, with some very nice well-fenced dog parks provided by the county, so if the beach is not high on your list you can easily find other places for them to just be dogs.
