Retirement in Olde Naples Florida, why the baby boomers are on their way south.

Looking for an Active Retirement, Naples City Doc is great for fishing charters.I just read a report released from RealtyTrac, it was about real estate investing in areas of the United States that have become "the" best place to retire.    On the top 15 list quite a few of the towns are in Florida, and for good reason, we have the best winter climate, warm sunny days with little to no rain, our health care system is excellent and there are lots to do, especially if you like the outdoors, boating, fishing, tennis and of course golf, our number one sport are all easily accessible.   So the top places to retire in Florida, according to the report are, Dunnellon, where home prices rose over 31% last year, Naples, North Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, Sun City Center, where everyone seems to have a golf cart rather than a car, Venice, and Orange County.  I drive through Sun City quite frequently and I must admit to being a tad bit jealous of everyone traveling at a respectfully slow place in their carts.  Not for me for a few years yet, but I am a baby boomer, so maybe I should start picking out where I would like to enjoy myself in the years to come, of course on top of my list will be retirement in Olde Naples.

Wonderful homes line the streets to Naples beach. Our Baby Boomers started retiring in 2009 and it is estimated that more of them will be retiring over the next fifteen years.  Daren Blomquist stated that the popular retirement cities will probably be an area of growth in the housing industry as more and more people retire. Interesting stuff and I have to say, I feel it is well supported by the way the homes down here in the Southwest are selling.

Many of our winter part-time residents are taking the plunge and moving full time down to Olde Naples.  Although our summers can be hot, they are easier to cope with than six foot of snow and it's easy to find a pool to dip in to stay cool. If your considering retirement in Olde Naples, maybe an apartment or condo downtown, you should take a look at Naples Square, this new community which is about to break ground, is stunning in design and has the added benefit of being right downtown at the end of Fifth Avenue, an easy evening's stroll to some of the best restaurants around.
