We are now at the one month point past Hurricane Irma and I am sure you like most of our clients have questions such as is the housing market affected by Hurricane Irma? or, Has the value of my home dropped since the hurricane? and will I be able to still sell my home in Naples after the hurricane?

Should I become a Real Estate Agent?

This is a full-time business.  Many people enter this business with the expectation that you can work when you want where you want.  And to a point that is true; however, many people get into this business with unrealistic expectations.  So, should I become a real estate agent? 

There are many sacrifices to become a full-time real estate agent.  During the first two years, you will need to put in countless hours and hustle to get new clients.  To become successful, it takes complete dedication and with that comes a need for funds for living expenses and marketing.  I would highly suggest that anyone thinking about going into the real estate industry have a 2-year reserve of funds.

The Orchid a green home for sale in Naples FloridaDo any of you ever ask you if a home is environmentally friendly?  is being "green" part of your decision making?

My guess is that the answer, for the most part, is no.  However, for a while there I too was oblivious to exactly what an Environmentally Friendly home was and how it could impact my life. That is until I got a Platinum Leed Certified home for sale.  After that, I certainly had to brush up on my knowledge base, so I spent some time researching and finally I achieved my "Green Certification" for Real Estate.  

What has this done for me?  Well apart from making me more aware of how we use energy in our homes, going around turning lights off much to my wife's dismay.  It has certainly made me make some more significant changes around my own

Two real estate vets hired by Trulia to fortify relationships with the real estate industry has departed after less than a year with the company.

Matt Dollinger, formerly Trulia's head of industry relations, announced his departure Monday to his Twitter followers.

 Todd Carpenter, a senior manager of industry engagement at Trulia, announced his departure from the company on Tuesday.

Dollinger, who was hired in May to oversee Trulia's sales and business development team, said he would continue to serve as an advisory board member and consultant on broker products. Before coming to Trulia, Dollinger was vice president of strategic development with @properties, an innovative Chicago brokerage.

While I sit here writing this at 8 pm on Saturday, December 29, most of the people in the city are out enjoying their evening. NABOR officially announced that the market has changed from a Buyers Market to a Buyers and Sellers Market,  this is great news for the Naples real estate market and homeowners looking to sell their houses.  Sales of homes both new and preowned have gone up considerably this year, Downing-Frye Realty, Inc has been reporting a huge jump in the number of homes sold this year.  Hopefully, this winter season is going to be really good for Naples residents.
